Butterfly House update!

In a recent blog I mentioned a charity that I will be working with, the Butterfly House Child Advocacy Center,  to help them raise money.  The event will be called “Stanly County Dancing with the Stars” and I am very proud to be a part of this fund-raiser.  I have been partnered with two really great ladies, who have a sincere passion for helping children.

We started working on our routines at the start of the Summer.  We have about one month and a couple of weeks left before the big event on September 8th, 2012, so I wanted to take a minute and introduce my partners to you.
I would like to introduce to you Dr. Yolanda Johnson, with whom I will be performing a Cha-Cha routine.
Dr. Johnson is a Pediatrician with Stanly Pediatric Services.  She earned her medical degree from Emory University (Atlanta,Georgia) and completed her pediatric residency at Duke University Medical Center.  Dr. Johnson serves on the Board of Directors for the Stanly Regional Medical Center Foundation and Stanly Medical Services.  She serves on the Butterfly House Advisory Council and performs medical exams for the center.  She and her husband, Lee, have four sons Evan, Owen, Ellis, and Maddox.
I would like to introduce to you Amy Yow, RN, BSN, with whom I will be performing a Waltz routine.
Amy Calloway Yow is Director of the Butterfly House Children’s Advocacy Center of Stanly Regional Medical Center.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the Cabarrus College of Health Sciences.  Mrs. Yow is active in community committees that involve children and teens issues, including Coordinator of Sexual Assault Response Team, Stanly County Partnership for Children Board of Directors, Safe Kids Stanly County, and Stanly County Partners in Health task force.   She and her husband, David, have three children, Austyn, Bailey, and Anslee.
I hope to have some video or pictures to share with you soon.  Keep checking back for new updates in the coming weeks.

Remember to keep dancing!

Ryan
